Teachers Self-Pronouncing Reference Edition - The Holy Bible containing the Old and New Testaments - Translated out of the original tongues and with the former translations diligently compared. Red Letter Edition. Authorized (King James) Version. National Bible Press, Philidelphia. This is a very well preserved old Bible. It lacks a printing date, unfortunately, but there are some clues that would make me take an educated guess that it was possibly printed around the 1910s-1930s. There is an old Amarillo Globe News clipping saved in the pages about a Wes L. Askey, Jr. graduating from Texas Technological College and being accepted to John Hopkins University in Baltimore. He was the son of Dr. and Mrs. W.L. Askew. I found another note, handwritten, that says may this be a guide to light your pathway thru life. from me-ma to Wesley. There are a few other names in the Bible (including another clip from an unknown newspaper recording the death of John Ross Kniseley, as an 84-year old druggist in Idabel. Between the Testaments in this Bible is one of those old Family Registers that they used to put in. It lists John as the youngest child of 4 (joining Herman, Lena May, & Maggie May Kniseley), and the parents as Jacob Lewis Kniseley and Amanda Ross Knisely. I did some tracking of these names to guess the date. At any rate, and whatever the date, the Bible is pretty cool.
