California Fish and Game, Conservation of Wild Life Through Education
Estate collection of the first 17 years of Fish and Game, the first 65 issues. The Booklets are devoted to the discovery of California wildlife and its conservation through education. Printed quarterly by the State of California, Department of Natural Resources, Division of Fish and Game, San Francisco California.
The first issue, Volume 1, Number 1, was printed in October 1914, and Vol.1 numbers 2 through 5 in 1915. Softcover the first issue was 40 pages and over the years the journal expanded to about 100 pages each. Format is approximately 6 by 9 with a stapled binding.
Articles illustrated with B&W photos, charts and graphs about different game fish, birds or animals and related editorials. Regular sections on Waterfowl and Mammals, plus stats, charts and miscellaneous sections.
